Leveller selection info

The correct leveller for your situation

The choice for a type of leveller and options depends on a number of factors.

It is important to determine what kind of work mainly needs to be done and what type of wheel loader or shovel will be connected. A larger leveller means more efficiency on larger surfaces, but also more weight and therefore a larger wheel loader.

  • Smaller models (180 - 220) are mainly used for pavement works of bicycle and walking paths, driveways and terraces. In addition, the compact dimensions are ideal for internal work, such as preparing sand beds for concrete floors in factory halls.

  • The 220 and 240 models are often used for the construction of stelcon plates and wider cycle tracks.

  • The 270 and 300 models are ideally suited for the construction of roads, railways and stelcon plates.

  • The most popular models are the ANK220, ANK240 and the ANK270.

Which ANK leveller fits my wheel loader?

The correct width depends on the outer track width of the tyres and the lifting capacity of the wheel loader. The outer dimension of the shovel should be at least 10cm narrower than the outer dimension of the leveller to prevent track fouling. The lifting capacity of the wheel loader must be at least 20% more than the total weight of the leveller.

How is the ANK leveller connected to my wheel loader?

The ANK leveller is standard equipped with a universal coupling bar. Optionally, the ANK can be equipped with a connection bracket specific for your wheel loader. The wheel loader needs to have a hydraulic pressure connection with 25 to 70 l/min at 140-220 bar and a pressure-free return connection.

Can I connect an ANK leveller to a tractor?

An ANK Leveller can be connected to the three-point linkage of a tractor. With this combination one can also profile very accurately.

Adjustable soleplate

The adjustable sole is a recommended option that significantly extends the life of the scraper blades. When the front blade (scraper) is worn down and becomes shorter, the sole can be adjusted upwards in its entirety. This prevents the sole blades from extending under the front blade and therefore guarantees perfect operation. As a result, the blades wear out longer and need to be replaced less often. The adjustable sole is easily and accurately adjusted by operating only one lever. In addition, the height-adjustable sole is indispensable when working on various surfaces with high accuracy.

Swivel cylinder

The ANK graders can be equipped with a swivel cylinder, which allows the grader to swivel hydraulically and fix it in relation to the back plate. This makes it easy to work "forwards" or "dozing" in order to move piles of soil and sand. Without this option, the board can swing freely and can be manually fixed in the 0 position.

Curved, or no pusher plate?

A curved pushboard makes it easy to level out large piles of sand and soil. The curved construction forms a very robust construction that allows your shovel to function as a bulldozer.

Which receiver masts do I need?

The standard length of the receiver masts is 130cm, which is usually sufficient. If the laser transmitter is usually placed higher, masts of 180cm are available.

What laser equipment can I use?

A high-quality rotating laser transmitter with double slope is required to control the leveler. We recommend the Trimble / Spectra. This is a reliable and accurate transmitter that comes complete with a handheld receiver and remote control. A tripod and aluminium measuring stand are also required. The Trimble/Spectra GL522 and GL720 are also an excellent match.

Which laser receivers are suitable for levelling and straightening?

The control system of the ANK levelers works with various laser receivers. An adjustable receiver range (adjustable height range) is highly recommended for efficient levelling of larger height differences. It allows you to easily create break points or level in steps to a desired height. The Trimble LR410 and the WM LS3000 laser receivers form a solid combination.

  • for outdoor use we recommend the Trimble LR410.
  • For outdoor use with large height differences, the WM LS3000 laser receiver is the better choice. Advantage of the LS3000 compared to the LR410 is the larger reception range in height. The LR410 has a receiving height of 230mm, while the LS3000 has a receiving height of 300mm.
  • For use in greenhouses and other reflective environments, we recommend the WM LS3000.

Can I work with a tracer?

The control unit is prepared for profiling with a tracer. The leveller is fitted with a parallelogram and a Trimble Sonic Tracer, which enables it to accurately follow a curb. The parallelogram ensures that the tracer moves with the doors as they move in and out.

3D profiling

All Weterings ANK Levellers are standard prepared for 3D profiling with Trimble Total Station or Trimble Earthworks. The sophisticated construction ensures a very smooth operation, with which any profile in a terrain can be created.
